It is quite possible to become addicted to paint. You just can't get enough of it and all you ever desire is paint. Just when you think you have all the colors, a different kind of paint hits blogland. You just got to have it . . .
With this addiction, comes another addiction: thrifting and antiquing. You become enthralled in finding the next piece you can paint. You walk around the house searching every room for something to paint. Something . . . Anything . . . Craigslist becomes the top item on your list of things to do. Every few minutes you are hitting the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the latest listings. You frequently find yourself saying, "Honey, will you watch the kids?" He then replies, "Uh, yes. Where are you going?" You say, "Somewhere not far" as you quickly head out the door to the nearest antique shop. You become ecstatic when you spot this little bookshelf made of heavy wood and interesting little legs for only $25. You immediately think it will look great in your little girl's room. You can't believe it's only $25. You examine it, pick it up, and shake it. You can't believe it is sturdy and only $25. The guy in the booth says he was using it for displaying things, but he doesn't have room for it anymore. Another guy asks, "Do you want me to just put that in the car for you? You've been looking at it for a while now." I smile You smile and say, "I'll take it."
You drive it home and quickly carry it into your little storage room without getting caught. You decide you will share your little secret with the hubby later. A few days later, you finally pull it out and decide to start working your magic on it. You then discover just how amazing a piece can look with a little bit of Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint along with some dark wax. This paint distresses wonderfully. It makes things go from blah to making you want to say, "Ta-da!"
